Anywho, this last week was A-MAZING! Just wrapped up the first C3 conference since being on staff at Fellowship. It was awesome to be a part of what God is doing through Fellowship and Pastor Ed and Lisa. God definitely showed up in a real way!

Somehow during this last week, I lost my computer power. So today I went back to the church to try to find it. I walked into the band room and it was empty and not a soul around. It was a weird feeling. Just a couple of days earlier, we were experiencing a life changing time with each other and with God. We were laughing, praying, crying and growing together. Now, all those people were gone, it was quiet all around, and I was just looking into an empty room.

The other day I read Proverbs 24:32 and have been trying to apply this to my life. I was observing this empty room and I knew there had to be something to learn from this….

Sometimes we think a conference, a camp, a book or a song will keep the fire alive. If we could just hear the C3 speakers all the time. If we could just recreate that experience.

The reality is that all those things are great, but they are just an empty room now. People, books, camps and conferences can enhance things, but what makes all those great is an encounter with the Holy Spirit. It is the Presence of God. C3 was great because we encountered the Holy Spirit. If you really want to keep that alive post-C3, stay close to God! If you try to do anything else without that, you will end up with an empty room!

Anywho, I don’t even know what the movie was b/c I was driving, and I’m a good driver and don’t watch movies while I drive. lol. But I did hear this part where this girl’s eyes were miraculously healed and this guy brought her glasses back to her and told her she better see the doctor. Basically, he did not really believe she was healed. So, she looks back at him, without her glasses on, and says she didn’t need to see the doctor. He asked why she doesn’t even want to see the doctor and how does she get healed and not other people. She replied with a statement that almost made me drive off the road,

“because I believed”

It was so easy for her. She used to not be able to see and now she can. She simply believed. Her decision wasn’t that hard. Either she stays blind or she believes and maybe sees again. She chose to just believe. Then when she did get healed, she didn’t need an explanation. She knew she could see and it was because she believed.

There was a simplicity in her life that I longed for. Sometimes when we have been involved in religious activity for so long, or been in the politics of ministry for so long, we overcomplicate what it is to follow Jesus. We overcomplicate it to the point that it is hard to just believe. We need explanation after explanation. Or better yet, we are arguing with other believers about “how” to believe!

I just want to believe! Not because religion tells me to. Not because religion tells me how to. I don’t want to believe because it is my job. I want the motivation of my belief to be as pure as that girl’s.

I want to believe because if I don’t, I can’t see!

I told you there is so much from C3 that I wanted to share, warm fuzzies if you will, so I will attempt to put it into words. All the speakers were amazing, but three of them said some things that rocked my world, Ed Young, Craig Groeschel, and T.D. Jakes. Today’s post is my warm fuzzy with Craig Groeschel.

About a week before C3, my wife and I had been really talking about taking some steps back towards ministry. Honestly, we were scared. I work a job, that is not great, but it is money coming in. I expressed this struggle a little bit in this post.

So we went into C3 with this struggle on our hearts and minds. The second night of C3, Craig Groeschel talked about God giving you a hall pass. He said, ”

“If there is something you know God has told you to do….THEN DO IT! When God is telling you to GO and people are telling you no…whip out your HALL PASS!”

That shook my wife and I. We just looked at each other with tears streaming down our face. Then he pointed at the front row where Ed Young, Jentezen Franklin and all the amazing men and women of God were sitting and he said,

“I believe that just like these great men and women have gathered, the next generation of great Kingdom warriors are in this room!”

I about exploded when he said that! I think I actually raised my hand like an elementary kid does when he wants the teacher to pick him. That was a great experience that breathed some life into me. Pulled me out of my perception and put me back into seeing things through God’s perception!

Monday, I’ll talk about my warm fuzzy with Ed Young. It is not really a warm and fuzzy feel good, more like a challenge, but we will roll with it.

I went straight from training to church. Honestly, I was tired and not personally expecting anything, but God definitely thought differently. Ed’s message was prophetic. He made sense of and gave direction to the exact situation we are in.

A few quick notes from his message:
He talked about Daniel and Darius and how Darius did not consult Daniel, even though Daniel lived through the two kings’ experiences before him. He said we all need to seek out “Daniels” in our life.

He also gave a few pointers for blogging and Twittering, but you will have to just watch it to get those nuggets.

That service caused me to follow through with two decisions that I had been contemplating for the past couple of weeks. During the message, I wrote down the “Daniels” in my life and one major one is Darrin Begley. As soon as I got in the car, I called him. That was reaction #1.

Then I drove straight to my job and proceeded with reaction #2. I changed my availability. Fellowship is my church and it is priority. I need to be there on Saturday nights with my wife and we also are taking an FC Study together with some friends on Thursday nights. There are many more reasons within those reasons, but I’m just gonna keep it at that.

Today, was back for more Pat. Then tonight I spent time getting a handle on all my classes. Now it’s bedtime. Goodnight.
