New Job
In December of ‘07 I had a God-dream that I was at Fellowship Church. In August of ‘08 we joined FC. In March of ‘09, I started leading worship at FC on a volunteer basis. Well, here we are a year later and Meg and I are absolutely ecstatic to announce that I have joined the Fellowship Church staff! It has been a year of limbo and “tent-making” and relying on what we felt God put in our hearts. In hindsight of this particular year of our life, There are some thoughts I wanted to pass on:
1. A word from God supercedes ALL circumstances.
I am learning that when God speaks something to my heart, there is nothing that can stop that except for me to stop stepping. Meg and I knew we were to walk through what we have walked through this last year. There were times when financially, emotionally, and physically, we were just tired and wanted to give up. BUT we knew God spoke this to us and just kept stepping.
There is so much more going on then where you are or what you see.
A mentor of mine told me the story of Abraham and Isaac from a different perspective. If you need to brush up on that story it is Genesis 22:1-14. Of course, we know that Abraham obeyed God and walked Isaac up the mountain. He did not know that the ram was walking up the other side of the mountain, on course to meet him at the exact moment that he was about to kill Isaac. God is always working stuff out on the other side of the mountain. We just have to stay in step with what we know God speaks to us. That doesn’t mean it is easy, but just keep stepping. You do not know what is walking up the other side of that mountain!
