Be a Man!

Last night I was laying in my bed with my wife and she had fallen asleep with half her head on my shoulder and half on my chest. Her arm was wrapped around my stomach keeping me close. She usually always falls asleep like that and then at some point we move. Usually when my arm goes numb.

Last night I had a moment though. I was fighting sleep just thinking about the great weekend, while my wife slept. As I looked at her laying on my chest wrapping her arm around me, I thought,

“For some reason, this woman loves me. Not only that, but she trusts me in her most vulnerable state.”

I think sleep is the most vulnerable we can be. I mean, if I am sleeping good, I think I actually stop breathing sometimes. The picture of my wife holding on to me in her most vulnerable state really challenged me to be a man.

She looks to me for leadership, physically and spiritually. Not only her, but someday, some little Aubreys will lay on my chest the same way and look to me the same way my wife does.

Wow! What an opportunity and responsibility! Last night reminded me to take responsibility and be a man of God to my family.

God, shape me into the man you want me to be…………….
