Medipraying (Question 1)

Submitted by on Tuesday, 13 January 20094 Comments

I am reading through the One Year Chronological Bible this year and like every first couple of weeks of January, I have been revisiting the story of Abraham. This year, I have been meditating and praying (medipraying) a lot on the story of Abraham. My medipraying has caused me to begin to ask God some big questions. I am going to split this up into one question at a time, so here is today’s question:

1. What is my miracle?
The story of Abraham and Sarah having Isaac in their old age is very intriguing. It was the greatest miracle in their lives, and it was the main ingredient of their promise. Yet, they had no control over it. There was no way they could make an Isaac. It was physically impossible.

In our lives, our greatest miracle or opportunity is behind the situation that we absolutely cannot change. Most of the time I do not look past what I can manipulate or create with my hands. So I am searching my life. Finding the the non-fixable situation that I am facing. The one that I cannot do anything about no matter how hard I try. Then trust God to do a miracle.

Ummm…. It's not Rebekah, it's Sarah, I've been reading Genesis for a couple of weeks now and I just read chapter 18 when the Lord visits Abraham and blesses Sarah saying that she'll have a son about the same time the next year. Then, in chapter 21, Sarah gives birth and Abraham names him Isaac.
