John 1:14 – ………We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

I’ve been studying a little bit and a ran across a talk from Scott Hodge. He used this verse and it really showed me one aspect that Jesus was that followers of Christ should be. That is full of grace and truth. I think followers of Christ have been great at the truth part. We make sure everyone knows what we call truth, and we are really good at letting them know; but I’m not sure grace even exists much anymore in the church.

My dad was a pastor and my little sister got pregnant before she was married. We lost half of our church because my dad would not kick her out of the church for sinning. If I remember, Jesus was called friend of sinners and we want to kick people out of the institution created by followers of Jesus.

I know it has taken alot of grace from my parents, mentors and especially Jesus for me to be where I am now. If we look at our lives, we can all think of situations when someone had grace on us. As followers of Christ, we need to be full of grace and truth.

Hebrews 12:15 – See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
